Ever since i was in elementary school i have always had this dream in my head.As I’d sit there, doodling a monster on my math homework,I dreamed of how wonderful it would feel to be one of those smart,intelligent students,the ones who’d always end up getting straight A’s as if it were nothing.Well, I may not have the right to tell you i got straight A’s because i didn’t.And i may not have the right to tell you I’m as smart as Einstein,because,really I’m not.But what i can tell you,is that it sure felt good getting the top mark in my science mock,and damn,even if i weren’t the smartest person in the world,it felt good to have that moment.
As one of my classmates informed me that i’d have to go the tutorial at 9 to 10,(and was wrong) it really pissed me off.The fact that i had to wake up early and eat my breakfast walking up to Tamanawis wasn’t the best way to start off my morning.Anyway,as i went to another science class’s tutorial,i immediately began getting a bad feeling about it all.Ms.B was going over the mock exams and i don’t know about you,but i find it very depressing doing this.As the class was coming to an end she announced “67 was the highest mark in the class.”
As i heard this,doubts of how i would get even a good mark popped into my head.It must be Sahira who got that mark.Yeah,she’s pretty damn smart..
I managed to rush over to the teacher and ask her about the practise exams that she didn’t check off as homework.And as i was saying this she interrupted me by saying
“It’s okay,you get full marks for that,” she said,beaming at me.
Wondering why she was in the greatest mood ever i began asking her about my mark.
“67! That’s yours!” she says hugging me as i stood there dumbfounded.
“Your kidding me right?” I gave her a doubtful face and suddenly figured that B wouldn’t kid like that…
A smile slowly formed.
WOW.OH -MY- GOD! was running through my head as i burst out of there heading towards art class.I just HAD to tell someone about the great news.
“MR.T.GUESS WHAT?!!?!!?” I said,trembling out of happiness (if that’s even normal.)
“What?” he said curiously.
“I GOT THE HIGHEST MARK IN MY EXAM!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!?”
“Well,that’s great!”he said.
And really,that’s all i needed to hear to make sure this wasn’t just a dream.
So here i am,listening to 99 red balloons on blast and blogging about how my day went.Maybe i never reacted as calmly as those straight A students who get great marks almost every time they do a test,but man,i can’t hold it in as great as they do.I really can’t.
Happiness sure is hard to hide.
